On suit avec bonheur les tribulations de Carl Hébert (Rémi-Pierre Paquin), jeune homme récemment veuf. Or, élever seul deux enfants (une adolescente dont la jupe rétrécit en même temps que l'autorité qu'on a sur elle, et un artiste surdoué comme fils) ça demande un certain équilibre… Ajoutez à ça un salaire en moins et le grand-père, Carol (Michel Côté), un militaire raté qui se prend pour le général de la famille, ça met l'équilibre K.O.
Mais si on sort son méchant intérieur dans un ring de lutte, ça aide à rééquilibrer son quotidien et son portefeuille. Car dans le ring, les lutteurs n'échangent pas que des coups. Et grâce aux conseils pas toujours judicieux de ses nouveaux amis, Christian (le « bon » pas gentil), Eddie (le tendre méchant) et Guy (le promoteur-philosophe-boulechiteux), Carl Hébert tente de trouver un sens à sa nouvelle vie.
Dans un tel environnement, cette quête réserve à Carl comme au public bien des surprises et des rebondissements.
