Kasuga Arata est un adolescent des plus normal, qui vit avec sa cousine et amie d'enfance Hijiri. Un jour il remarque que le soleil et la lune sont devenus noirs et qu'il est le seul à s'en rendre compte. Il rencontre alors une étrange jeune fille, Lilith , qui lui explique que son monde a été détruit. Il vit en fait dans un monde virtuel qu'il a lui même crée à l'aide d'un Grimoire que lui a laissé sa cousine avant d'être absorbée par le soleil noir. Lilith est une élève de l'Académie Magicus, qui a été envoyée pour retrouver le Grimoire. Menacé de mort par cette dernière, Kasuga n'a d'autre choix que de rejoindre l'Académie afin d'apprendre la magie et tenter de retrouver sa cousine.

Crashing is a single-camera comedy directed by comedy powerhouse Judd Apatow and starring comedian Pete Holmes. Written by Holmes, the semi-autobiographical project centers on a sweet, wholesome comedian (Holmes) who, after his wife leaves him, has nowhere to stay but on the couches of New York's finest comics. Apatow and Holmes executive produce, with Holmes' manager Dave Rath serving as a producer alongside Josh Church (Trainwreck) and Igor Srubshchik (Girls), while Oren Brimer (The Pete Holmes Show) is a co-producer. Like the pilot, the series, on which Holmes would be the only regular, is scheduled to film in New York.
