Dans un petit village au fin fond de la Belgique, Bob le Flamand et Marcel le Wallon partagent avec force leur solitude, l'humour... et l'alcoolisme. Bob est un ancien aventurier. Il veut passer ses vieux jours au calme, tandis que Marcel a une famille qu'il ne veut pas perdre. Dans le village wallon, le temps s'écoule lentement. Heureusement, il faut couper du bois, accrocher les attrapes-mouches et aller chez le dentiste. L'alcool remplit le reste du temps. Les deux Belges n'ont pas pitié l'un de l'autre. Ensemble, ils sont forts, jusqu'à ce que Marcel décide d'arrêter de boire et que Bob refuse de lui tenir compagnie en cure de désintoxication...
